Female prison guards serving in the Israel Prison Service are under suspicion by authorities for allegedly engaging in intimate relations with a prisoner, according to a report by The Jerusalem Post. In response to these allegations, IPS Chief Katy Perry and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir jointly announced the immediate cessation of female guards’ service in Israel’s security prisons.

This decision followed a meeting between National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and the head of IPS, convened in the wake of reports detailing an ‘intimate relationship’ between a female prison guard and a detained terrorist. In connection with this incident, one soldier has been arrested, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway. Certain details of the case have been subjected to a gag order.

The arrested soldier is suspected of maintaining an intimate relationship with a terrorist while serving as a warden. Furthermore, there are additional allegations involving other wardens engaging in similar relationships with prisoners. The warden involved in the initial incident confessed to her actions during routine questioning by the Information Security Branch of the Prison Service. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the Warden Investigations Unit in Lahav 443. It is anticipated that the prisoner involved in this case will be interrogated in the coming days.
